Information Technology Center
The Information Technology Center (ITC-KYTP) of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) supports the university community on information technology, management of technology infrastructure and monitoring of technological developments. Thus helps for the formulation of strategy on data and information and dissemination of information technologies throughout the university community.
ITC was founded in early 1998 under the Operational Program for Education and Initial Vocational Training (E.P.E.A.E.K.) with funding from the Ministry of Education and the European Union. Currently it is mainly funded by the «Information Society» projects, from the regular budget of the Committee on Technology and Information Services and Communications, by the Research Committee and the regular budget of the university.
The services provided by ITC are briefly as follows:
- Advisory services and technical support
- Organization and distribution of software
- Support for the distributed computer system AFS
- Support computer laboratories and computer AUTH
- Management and supervision of the central computer lab of AUTH
- Central computer backup/restore services
- Equipment maintenance services
- Remote management services of computer systems
- Monitor central software maintenance contracts of AUTH secretariats
- Educational activities and seminars
- Borrowing equipment (projectors, laptops)
