  • Transports
  • Biotechnology
  • Biomedicine and Health
  • Agriculture, Forestry, and Fishery
  • Education and Language

  • Social and Economic Sciences

1,340 of the 2,360 members of academic staff have been actively involved in research and technological development projects, and funding in the past five years has reached the amount of 15 million euros. 12,000 external associates have been employed in these projects, thus making AUTh one of the biggest scientific employers nationwide.

In AUTh, there is an interdisciplinary cooperation among schools and laboratories in joint projects. Moreover, many academic staff members cooperate with European partners for the implementation of joint projects.

AUTh has cooperated with 1,080 partners in the past three years (Universities, research centres and companies) within the framework of the 5th Support Framework. A number of AUTh labs, 250 in all, have participated in EU projects, covering the entire range of scientific activity.

Apart from the research staff, many students are also actively involved in these labs, which gives the opportunity to get a closer look at research activity and get better prepared for their academic or professional career.
