The Interdisciplinary Centre for Aristotle Studies was established by the Senate of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki on July 6th, 2011. It operates under the supervision of the members of the Senate of the University.

The objectives of the Centre are:

  • Promoting the work of Aristotle at international level, and encouraging research on a wide range of relevant topics in: philosophy, the humanities, law and political science, physics and mathematical sciences, health sciences, and technological sciences.
  • Providing undergraduate and postgraduate students with research opportunities in Aristotelian studies at a more advanced level and in conjunction with the fields mentioned above, as well as with theoretical and practical training directly related to their main field of study.

The overall goal of the Centre is:

  • Studying the works of Aristotle and their ongoing contribution to the cultural heritage of Greece, Europe and, in general, the West. Studying the influence of the works and doctrines of Aristotle on the cultural development of other peoples.
