International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical ExperienceInternational Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience

IASTE (International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience) is a non-profit, non-political programme for the exchange of students from technical sectors. It aims at giving students the opportunity to gain technical experience relevant to their field of studies; it also works for the benefit of academic institutions, industrial bodies, and other organizations that offer the opportunity for practical training to students, and it promotes international understanding and good will among students of all nations regardless of race, colour of skin, gender or religion.

Greece is a member of the Association. In the local IASTE, committee members work on a voluntary basis. Greece is an active member of the programme, exchanging positions for practical training with the majority of participating countries.

The International Organization AIESEC

AIESEC

AIESEC is an international non-governmental, non-profit, non-political organization managed by students, that works on an voluntary and educational basis. It was established in 1948; the Greek office was set up in 1956 and the A.U.Th. office in 1991. It is present in 5 continents, 107 countries and territories, at more than 1.700 universities, with 23.000 members worldwide.

Part of the AIESEC activity is the Work Abroad programme which enables students and recent graduates to live and work in one of the countries comprising the AIESEC network, for a period ranging from  6  weeks to 1 year. It also helps them know the host culture and cooperate with people of a different mentality. All AIESEC activities are organized by its members who offer their services on a voluntary basis.
