Haralambos Feidas was born in Volos, Greece, in 1968. He holds a Bachelor Degree in Physics (1991), Master of Science degree in Meteorology and Atmospheric Environment (1994) and PhD in Satellite Meteorology (1999) from the University of Athens.
He is a Professor at the Department of Meteorology and Climatology, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki since 2008 in the field of Satellite Meteorology and Climatology.
He has been employed as a researcher in the Physics Department of University of Athens (1996-1999) and in the Institute of Environmental Research and Sustainable Development of National Observatory of Athens (1999-2000). He has been a Lecturer and Assistant Professor at the University of Aegean (Department of Geography) with specialization in Physical Geography with emphasis in Satellite Meteorology and Climatology from 2000 to 2008.
His research interests lie predominately in the area of Satellite Meteorology and Climatology and regional climate changes. He is especially interested as well in the climate services, mapping of climate data and applied climatology. Prof. Feidas has published more than 100 articles in scientific journals and conference proceedings. He has involved in a number of research projects of domestic or international character. He has been teaching the courses of Meteorology and Climatology in several Schools of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
He has served as the Head (2017-19) and Vice Head (2015-17) of the School of Geology (A.U.Th), Director of the Department of Meteorology and Climatology (2016-17) and Director of the Master Degree Program in Meteorology and Climatology and Atmospheric Environment (2013-16).
Prof. Feidas has served as well as President (2015-19) and Treasurer (2013-15) of the University Teacher’s Association of A.U.Th and General Secretary of the Hellenic Federation of University Teacher’s Association (POSDEP) (2013-19).
