Providing architectural education that encompasses the whole spectrum of space scales, planning, and design and redesign, thus ensuring cohesion in the studies offered, is the fundamental principle behind the curriculum of the School of Architecture. The programme of study offered by the School of Architecture covers a wide variety of disciplines related to architecture: architectural and urban design, conservation and restoration, landscape design and the environment, urban and regional planning.
The School ensures that students are given training on a wide range of topics in art, technology and science. Students are provided with extensive theoretical and practical training directly related to their main field of study, and are encouraged to conduct research to hone their skills. Linking theory to practice, design in particular, is the guiding principle that determines the curriculum of the School of Architecture.
There are two aspects in educational freedom: freedom of teaching and freedom of studies, both of which play a significant role in the programme of study of the School of Architecture. Freedom of studies, granted to the entire body of students, complements the constitutionally protected freedom of teaching. The integration of these two aspects requires mutual respect.
