Ceremony Halls

Main Ceremony Hall of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki

The main Ceremony Hall of the Aristotle University is located in the main campus, next to the Administration building. Architects C. Fines and C. Papaioannou designed the Hall, a project for which they were awarded a prize. The construction of the Hall began in 1970 and was completed in 1973. The interior is decorated with a mosaic created in 1983-84 by I. Kolefas, assistant professor in the Athens School of Fine Arts, based on preliminary plans drawn up by architecture professor N. Moutsopoulos. The mosaic depicts the history of the city of Thessaloniki in a vivid way.

All important events are held in the main Ceremony Hall of the Aristotle University (graduation ceremonies, award ceremonies, conferences, concerts, anniversary ceremonies, etc.). The Hall also hosts events organized by other agencies of the city of Thessaloniki.
